Turtle Release 22nd Feb

Flatback turtles are native to the northern coast of Australia and off the coast of Papua New Guinea where they inhabit bays and shallow, grassy waters, coral reefs, estuaries and lagoons.

After surviving a crocodile attack that left her with injuries to her head, neck and shell, Jilly was nursed back to health by the awesome team at Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre, now it’s time for this beautiful girl to go home.

She will be released from the beach at Fitzroy Island around 1pm, and its an experience not to be missed.

Safe travels Jilly, we’ll miss you!
